Politics & Leadership

Listening is most of it.

Debate, Model UN and local government have taught me the same lesson from different angles: the best ideas come from taking other perspectives seriously.

Debate

Head Captain & President.

I worked my way through our debate program and now lead it as the sole Head Captain and President, alongside two co-captains. What I enjoy most is the discipline of arguing a side I might not hold — and discovering it's stronger than I expected.

Leading means running practices and coaching students from novice to varsity, and building a program where people want to keep showing up. In 2026 I was the only junior selected — alongside three senior captains — for Brunswick's schoolwide Trust Debate.

Model United Nations

Co-Secretary-General.

Model UN pulled together several things I care about: international affairs, historical crises, diplomacy and genuinely hard political questions with no clean answers.

I grew from delegate to Vice President to Co-Secretary-General — one of two team heads — managing a seven-person board, building curriculum and coaching delegates. Along the way I earned an Honorable Mention at NAIMUN.

Greenwich First Selectman's Youth Commission

Three years in local government.

Youth online safety roundtable with U.S. Senators Chris Murphy and Richard Blumenthal and Governor Ned Lamont.

I've served on the commission for three years and lead its Finance Subcommittee. It's where civics stopped being abstract for me.

  • 01Co-authored an environmental policy proposal for the Town of Greenwich
  • 02Serving on four project subcommittees for town-sponsored initiatives
  • 03Chair of the Finance Series Subcommittee — launched the Greenwich Finance Series
  • 04Teen panelist, youth online safety roundtable

Reflection

Leadership has taught me to listen, navigate disagreement, bring people together — and then actually do something.
