Service & Projects · 5 Steps to Five

Building for others.

The attendance and family-records app I built for 5 Steps to Five — used in the organization's daily operations since 2023.

The 5 Steps to Five Administration App is used internally by staff and distributed through Apple's Unlisted App Distribution. It does not appear in public App Store search.

5 Steps to Five supports early childhood education and families in the Port Chester and Rye communities. I started volunteering there in eighth grade.

The longer I stayed, the more I understood how much of the work happened on paper — attendance, family information, records that staff needed every single day. It seemed like something software could make easier.

So I taught myself what I needed to build it: Swift, SwiftUI and Firebase. I built a custom attendance and family-records application, and the organization adopted it as part of its daily operations. I kept volunteering, and in September 2025 I joined the paid staff.

Along the way I led three Spanish-language technology workshops for immigrant families — on AI and its uses, screen-time management, and QR codes.

Working directly with families changed how I think about building anything. The best feature isn't the clever one — it's the one that fits into someone's morning without friction.

Founder · Greenwich Finance Series

Teenagers make big financial decisions. Most of us aren't taught how.

When I got interested in personal finance, I noticed how few people my age had any real financial education — right as we approach student loans, first jobs and first accounts.

I developed the idea for a free series and pitched it through the Greenwich First Selectman's Youth Commission. From there it was logistics: recruiting speakers, coordinating with the town, and reaching students at schools across the area.

The first event, Financial Literacy for High Schoolers, led to a second: a Finance & AI Workshop exploring how artificial intelligence is changing money and work — where students got hands-on with the AI stock-predicting agent our team built for the event.

My favorite part

Getting to know the students — answering their questions and watching them feel more confident about money.

Two projects, one idea.

Whether it's an app or an event, I'm most interested in using what I know to create something of value to someone else.
